Job Description

JOB PURPOSE - This position exists to ensure the safety and comfort of our customers by providing topnotch service for emergency and scheduled deliveries.

We are currently hiring our seasonal drivers for the 2016-2017 season.  Start date will be near December 1, depending upon your schedule, training needed and the weather.  Hiring will be completed by mid-August, so DON'T DELAY!!  Positions available in Morrisville, Waterbury, Montpelier and Waitsfield areas; you would be based in the Bourne's Energy office nearest to your home.

Major responsibilities include:

  • Travel to/from customer locations
  • Work well with others (dispatch, safety officer, co-workers, customers, management, etc.)
  • Consistent on-time attendance
  • Flexible with schedule changes
  • Excellent communication - verbal, written, face-to-face, radio
  • Properly interrpet tickes; clarify questions prior to delivery
  • Familiar with service areas and able to follow directions
  • Cleanliness and organization
  • Available for on-call rotation
  • Follow good safety practices
  • Positive, can-do attitude

Shifts may be available for fulltime seasonal, weekends only, part-time seasonal, nights only, on-call only, etc.  Let us know what your schedule will allow and we'll try to fit it in!

Requirements

SKILLS - comfort with technology (controls, tablets, iPhone, etc.), mechanical aptitude, basic mechanical troubleshooting skills, knowledge of fuel products

ABILITIES - honesty, inquisitiveness, logic, flexibility, pride in your work well done, caring demeanor (customers, coworkers, communities, environment), empathy, work as part of a team or independently

WORK ENVIRONMENT - exposure to all weather conditions, vehicle noise, all types of customer locations (home, garage, business, basements, crawl spaces, utility closets, etc.), various and changing road conditions

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS - walk, sit use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach w/hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk; hear; pull up to 75 pounds alone; move 76+ pounds with assistance; close-distance-color-peripheral vision; depth perception; ability to adjust focus; perform simultaneous tasks, walking through deep snow, mud or ice

LICENSING / CREDENTIALS - Class B or above insurable commercial driver's license, Hazmat endorsement, Tanker endorsement, CETP Certifications for LP

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE - minimum of 2 years field work

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS - frequent feedback, annual review, attainment of annual goals established between supervisor and incumbent
